Close to 240 generous supporters planned to join us this year for Casino Night on March 1, 2025. This is our Annual Flagship Fundraising Event and we want to thank each and every one of our supporters, individual donors and corporate sponsors from the bottom of our hearts. Guests enjoyed an outstanding evening of delicious food, wonderful cupcakes, great drinks, professional gaming tables, bidding on silent auction items, selecting raffle items and buying 50/50 tickets.
2025 is DC Candlelighters 20th Anniversary and to mark this special occasion, we held a 20/20/20 fundraising event during the evening. 20 years to mark how long we have been supporting the childhood cancer community and its families, 20 minutes to collect $20 from as many donors as we could. Thanks to everyone’s generosity during this campaign we raised $1445.

We honored the 2024 Volunteer of the Year, Steve Fiedler, for all his hard work assisting us with implementing our donor software. We also recognized three women who graciously supported DC Candlelighters: Betz Frank for developing our newsletters and being on call for graphic support, Jessie Saucer for all her help with securing Raffle Items and Silent Auction Baskets for Casino Night, and Nadya Ally for raising $6,441.07 during her Haymakers for Hope boxing match. We acknowledged the support from Suzan Watkinson as the DC Candlelighters Social Worker.
We are grateful to the Knights of Columbus who hosted our event, and all the amazing volunteers gave generously of their time to help ensure this event was a HUGE success.
