DC Candlelighter’s annual Family Spa Night was held at Life with Cancer Family Center on March 25, 2026, for a night of pampering for over 50 moms and dads, kids in treatment and their siblings. Kids came in their PJs, or got to pick new Pajamas donated by Amentum, dined with their parents, and were treated to mini spa activities such as facial masks, yoga, getting their nails painted, making sugar scrub, building Lego kits, making wooden rockets, and making their own ice cream sundaes. They were also able to choose from some great jewelry to take home with them.
Parents were treated to relaxing Reiki sessions from practitioners with the Bohra Family Center and a Sound Bath practitioner away from the kids. They also got to make their own sugar scrub, have their “glam” photos taken by Silly Shotz Photobooth Company, and enjoy making ice cream sundaes with their kids.
Thanks always to our numerous teen volunteers with the CVHS Wildcats vs Cancer Club and the Young Hearts Foundation, and Board Members Connie, Asia (Parent Spa), Sheri (Kids’ Mini Spa), Michelle (Nail Station), Amy (Ice Cream Sundae Station), and Jen (Sugar Scrub), and super volunteer, Molly Stevenson, and Callie, Michelle’s granddaughter.
