DC Candlelighter’s annual Rachel’s Royal Tea Party in honor of Co-President Meg Crossett’s daughter Rachel Crossett was held on April 27, 2025 at the Virginia Run Community Center. About a dozen children and half a dozen parents enjoyed a fancy Tea Party with sandwiches, cookies, and fruit. The kids enjoyed a craft station decorating mini purses, rockets, and crowns. The afternoon concluded with a Fashion Show, where the girls got to model “Princess” dresses and dance costumes walking the “runway” to an adoring crowd of parents.
Thanks to CJ’s Pediatric Promise Foundation for providing the sweet treats, for filling the teacups and saucers for the parents and to our many adult volunteers and teens from the Young Hearts Cancer Foundation, who helped with set up, costume changes, and the craft table. This delightful event was a great time for kids and parents alike.
